Xiaoxia - Left Behind Child

Twelve-year old Xiaoxia (pseudonym) from Anpu Village, Guangxi Province, was so shy when first interviewed by the social worker that she didn't want to show her face. World Vision helps left-behind children like Xiaoxia whose parents are working in urban centers, ensuring they still receive the nurture and support necessary to flourish. We aim to counter neglect, injury, bullying and abuse by strengthening community child protection systems incorporating counseling, medical support, government policy, community outreach and systems to identify and report incidences.

Xiaoxia and her two new friends are showing off the prizes they won at a World Vision outreach event to promote community awareness and train children and their caregivers to protect against bullying and abuse.
